The Venue
A 500-acre coastal estate in Clevedon.
Set on a 500-acre property in Clevedon, with sweeping coastal views over the Hauraki Gulf as far as the Coromandel Peninsula, Kauri Bay Auckland is one of the country's most distinctive wedding destinations.
The natural beauty and panoramic backdrop carry every moment of the day — ceremony on the lawn, drinks on the deck, dinner inside under festoon lights, then the long evening that winter does so well.

Winter slows the venue down. Fewer weddings on the calendar means more attention on yours — and the season itself does the rest of the work. The Gulf turns silver under low cloud, the fireplaces work for their living, and dinner stretches into a longer evening than summer ever allows.
Mulled wine on arrival. Candles, lots of them. A claybird round for the groomsmen while the bridal party takes the Range Rover up to the lookout. The kind of day that doesn't feel scripted because it isn't — it's just the venue, the season, and the people you love, given room to be themselves.

Confirm your date with a deposit. From there, our coordinator handles the run-up so you don't have to.

Stay the night

Our on-property Lodge is available the night of your wedding for the bridal party. Bridal-prep mornings, a late breakfast, and somewhere to land at the end of the night without driving.

What's the maximum guest count for the Winter Romance package?
The package is curated for intimate weddings of up to 50 guests, including the wedding party. Larger weddings are welcomed under our standard wedding offering — talk to us.
What if the weather isn't on our side?
Every space at Kauri Bay has an indoor backup, and our team plans the day with a wet-weather and dry-weather running sheet. You won't be making the call on the morning — we will, with you, the day before.
What does platter-style catering look like?
A flowing, share-style menu of seasonal platters served family-style at the table, paced across the evening. Tasting plates, mains, sides, and a dessert course. Dietaries — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies — handled. Children's options on request.
Can we bring our own celebrant, photographer, or florist?
Yes. We have preferred suppliers we recommend, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Is the coach the only transport option?
The 24-seater coach from Auckland CBD is included return. Guests can also drive themselves; on-site parking is available. The bridal party uses the included Range Rover.
Can children attend?
Yes — talk to us about numbers and we'll work catering and the run-sheet around it.
Is the Lodge included for an overnight stay?

How do we hold a date?
A signed agreement and a deposit holds the date. Until then, dates are available on a first-confirmed basis — even if you've enquired, the date isn't yours until it's locked.
